CNC Turning
CNC turning is a process for manufacturing shafts or cylindrical workpieces.
What is CNC turning?
With CNC turning, a workpiece is clamped in a lathe, where the workpiece rotates while a tool is inserted into it. The workpiece lies horizontally.
This allows the geometry to be shaped on the shaft as desired. Turning makes it possible to produce shafts and other cylindrical workpieces with high precision and tolerance.
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) is turning on a computer-controlled lathe that can be programmed. This is a significant advantage when producing precise and complex contours on the workpiece. CNC turning is also beneficial for mass production of many workpieces. Once the programming is done, the first workpiece is clamped and produced, then the remaining production is copy-paste. Here, the next round bar, consisting of the raw material used, is set up. Mass production is an efficient manufacturing method that offers our customers a favorable price.
High precision at an attractive price
We offer CNC turning with high precision at attractive prices. At Povl Møllers Maskinfabrik, we have many years of experience producing shafts for our own presses and machines. Therefore, we are well-equipped to help our customers – also with custom manufacturing of shafts. We produce everything from single pieces to multiple pieces and offer our expertise in large shafts, where we have the capacity to handle large workpieces that can be one and a half to two meters in length.
We also offer post-processing of the shaft with cylindrical grinding and can, depending on our customers’ wishes, also gear the shaft, so it has a gear wheel at one end. With cylindrical grinding, we can achieve very precise tolerances and fine surfaces. Thus, we can produce complex shafts for our customers.
Because we at Povl Møllers Maskinfabrik can produce with very fine tolerances, we ensure that the shafts subsequently run smoothly at our customers’ locations.
